CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati Student-Athlete Support Services held its 11th annual Bearcats Go Pro event Monday in Fifth Third Arena.

Bearcats Go Pro connects student-athletes with former student-athletes, national partners and local professionals in the Cincinnati community, while further developing their skills as they prepare to become professionals upon completion of their career at UC.

"Through Bearcats Go Pro, we're bridging the gap between athletics and the professional world, offering our student-athletes invaluable opportunities to connect, learn, network and thrive as they transition into the workforce, graduate school, or professional sports," said Chad Allen, Associate AD for Career Advancement & Leadership.

Bearcats Go Pro represents an evening of business professionalism meticulously crafted to aid student-athletes in exploring diverse career avenues, pinpointing areas of interest and directly engaging with seasoned industry professionals.

Local attendees included Cintas, Total Quality Logistics, Fidelity Investments, PepsiCo/Frito Lay, Enterprise Holdings, David J. Joseph, Medpace, Bridge Logistics, Cincinnati Reds, Divisions Maintenance Group, Fischer Homes and Bearcat Sports Properties.

Five former UC student-athletes served in a professional role at the event: former Jasmine Whitfield (basketball), Sam Rodgers (basketball), Ryan Royer (football), Maria Mallon (volleyball) and Arthur Greenlee IV (track and field).

Through strategic partnerships with NIL partner Altius Sports Partners, UC Athletics IMPACT and LinkedIn, Bearcats Go Pro featured NIL specific programming that leverages additional career opportunities outside of sport.

"The Student-Athlete Experience and Professional Readiness are top commitments from every staff member with UC Athletics," said Greg Harrell, General Manager – Altius Sports Partners. "NIL has provided athletes the opportunity to work on life skills and prepare for their career in 1:1 or small group NIL training sessions and in real relationships with local businesses here in Cincinnati. We are fortunate to be working closely with The Academy every day and supporting the Bearcats Go Pro event for the second consecutive year."
