CINCINNATI — The University of Cincinnati men's and women's cross country teams will head to Peoria, Ill., on Friday to compete in their regular season finale, the Bradley Pink Classic.
 
The Bradley Pink Classic will be held at Newman Golf Course and is hosted by Bradley University. Four races are scheduled throughout the day. The majority of the Bearcats will compete in the men's 8k red invite race at 4 p.m. ET. and the women's 6k red invite race at 4:45 p.m. ET. // LAST TIME OUT
The last time Cincinnati competed with both full squads was back on Sept. 22 at the Roy Griak Invitational. Graduate student Maddie Walker and freshman Gianni Allwein led way for the Bearcats as Walker was the first Bearcat to cross the finish line in the women's gold 6k. She placed 48th with a time of 22:12.6.
 
On the men's side, Allwein used a big final kick, moving up 20 spots in the final 3,000m, to place 67th overall in the men's gold 8k with a time of 25:35.4. The Cincinnati native was the Bearcats' top finisher in his first career appearance as a Bearcat.
 
// BACK AGAIN AT BRADLEY
The UC women's teams made the trip to Peoria last season and placed ninth overall, scoring 265 points. Walker was the Bearcats' top finisher placing 18th overall with a time of 20:44.1.
 
The team returns four of the five Cincinnati scorers from last year's race, including Walker, sophomores Sarah Madix (21:40.1, 67th) and Gwen Stare (21:58.6, 87th) and graduate student Carmela Henning (21:58.2, 98th).
 
// UP NEXT
The Bradley Pink Classic will be the Bearcats' final regular season meet before heading to Ames, Iowa for the 2023 Big 12 Cross Country Championships. Cincinnati is in its inaugural season in the conference and will be making its first Big 12 Championship appearance.
 
The Championship will be hosted by Iowa State and will take place on Saturday, October 28. The men's 8k will start at 10 a.m. CT and the women's 6k begins at 11 a.m. CT. Both races will be streamed on ESPN+ / Big 12 Now.
