Bearcats Battle Windy Conditions on First Day of Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational

MANHATTAN, Kan. – The University of Cincinnati women's golf team battled windy conditions on Monday at the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational at the Colbert Hills Golf Course in Manhattan, Kan.
 
The Bearcats completed the first 36 holes of the two-day tournament. The opening day saw 14 mph winds from the South-Southwest with gusts up to 25 mph.
 
Senior Paola Rosario posted a team-best six birdies to sit tied for 14th with a score of 148. She birdied three holes on the back nine to finish with an even-par 72 in the first round.
 
Senior Sadie Pan notched a team-best 25 pars to sit tied for 29th with teammate Mar García Jiménez. García Jiménez saw a 19-spot improvement from the first round after carding a season-low, even-par 72 in the second round.
 
Winnie Chiang (T33rd) and Brooke Patterson (T42nd) follow in order. The Bearcats sit in seventh with a team score of 605.
