CINCINNATI – Cincinnati football will face the Nebraska Cornhuskers at Lucas Oil Stadium––home of the Indianapolis Colts––on August 30, 2025, the school announced Tuesday.
"The transition from the American to the Big 12 presented some challenges with future scheduling that we needed to address," said Deputy AD/CFO John Daniel. "This game at Lucas Oil Stadium helped give us flexibility financially while creating a unique opportunity for UC football to host Nebraska. It will be an eighth home game in 2025. Playing at an NFL stadium in a major market with an outstanding recruiting base is a win for us."
The Bearcats also bought out a pair of game contracts. The team will no longer travel to face the Ohio Bobcats in 2026. A home-and-home series with Western Kentucky in 2025 and 2026 has also been canceled.
The meeting between the Bearcats and Huskers, which will mark the first between the two programs since 1906, was initially scheduled for 2020 in Cincinnati but was postponed after the Big Ten shifted to a conference-only schedule amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
While the Bearcats will serve as the home team in Indianapolis, fans in Cincinnati will still see the Bearcats seven times at Nippert Stadium in 2025, including five games in Big 12 Conference play.
The UC-Nebraska series will wrap up with the Bearcats traveling to Lincoln, Neb., on Sept. 11, 2032.
