STILLWATER, Okla. – A big third quarter by Oklahoma State lifted the Cowboys over the Cincinnati football team, 45-13, on a cold, wet Saturday night at Boone Pickens Stadium.

The Bearcats (2-6, 0-5) trailed 10-7 to the Cowboys (6-2, 4-1) at halftime and received the ball coming out of the break.

After holding Oklahoma State star running back Ollie Gordon in check in the first half, the Big 12's second-leading rusher got rolling in the third quarter, and the Cowboys scored twice over the final 4:41 on two long rushes as well.

His 42-yard run made him the first running back to reach 100 yards on the Bearcats this season and put Bowman in position to loft a touchdown pass to Brennan Presley to make the score 17-7.

Jones' pass sailed too high for Henderson on UC's next possession, leading to an interception by Oklahoma State's Cameron Epps.

Gordon broke several tackles a few plays later en route to a nine-yard score that extended the Cowboys' advantage to 24-7 with 9:03 left in the third frame.

On OSU's next drive, Gordon broke through the Cincinnati defense for a 39-yard run and Presley scored on a 1-yard run three plays later to give the Cowboys a 31-7 lead.

Gordon finished with 271 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries.

The Bearcats were led in rushing by Myles Montgomery (eight carries, 90 yards) and Corey Kiner (17 carries, 79 yards), but allowed too many long pass plays from Oklahoma State quarterback Alan Bowman, who finished 17-of-34 for 286 yards and two scores.

Oklahoma State took a 7-0 lead on the first drive of the game when Bowman found Josiah Johnson for a 29-yard touchdown catch at 13:02.

A 53-yard catch and run by Cincinnati wide receiver Xzavier Henderson gave the Bearcats a red zone opportunity on the ensuing drive, but Carter Brown's 23-yard field goal attempt bounced off the left upright.

Cincinnati tied the game 7-7 when Montgomery bumped a run outside and sprinted 63 yards to paydirt at the 3:35 mark in the first quarter.

After a successful flea flicker play put Oklahoma State in Cincinnati territory, defensive back Deshawn Pace jolted the ball loose from Gordon at the UC 16-yard line.

Bowman completed a 67-yard bomb to Leon Johnson to put the Cowboys in the red zone and set up Alex Hale's 28-yard field goal that gave the home team a 10-7 lead just under nine minutes before halftime.

Oklahoma State nearly scored again before halftime, but Hale's 40-yard field goal was wide left.

Cincinnati cornerback Jordan Young recorded his first career interception right before the break.

Cincinnati backup quarterback Brady Lichtenberg played the majority of the fourth quarter and finished 5-of-9 for 48 yards, including his second-career touchdown pass to Aaron Turner with 4:54 left for 21 yards.
