The University of Cincinnati women's basketball team made 10 three-pointers during a 71-60 triumph over Toledo on Sunday afternoon in Toledo, Ohio.

TOLEDO, Ohio – The University of Cincinnati women's basketball team made 10 three-pointers during a 71-60 triumph over Toledo on Sunday afternoon in Toledo, Ohio.
 
After not making a three-pointer Wednesday vs. Lindenwood, Cincinnati bounced back with a much-improved 41.7 percent (10-24) in the victory.
 
The 10 three-pointers fueled the Bearcats to a win in which they led by as many as 19 (57-38). Graduate student Mya Jackson led the way for the Bearcats, posting her ninth career 20-plus point effort with a team-high 22 points. She shot a sizzling 6-of-7 from behind the arc.
 
The Bearcats finished 38.2 percent from the field (21-55 FG) and made 19-of-32 attempts from the free throw line (.594). 
 
Cincinnati opened the game on an 11-0 run behind a trio of three-pointers from Mya Jackson. A trey from Reagan Jackson extended the Bearcats' lead to 12 at the first quarter media timeout (14-2). Toledo closed out the quarter on an 11-0 run to cut UC's lead to five (18-13).
 
Mya Jackson notched her fourth three-pointer with 8:46 left in the second quarter (21-15). Toledo later made it a one-possession before Cincinnati rattled off four straight three-pointers (35-21). In total, the Bearcats went on a 15-0 run over three minutes to lead 38-21 with three minutes on the clock. The Bearcats owned a 15-point advantage (40-25) at the break. Mya Jackson went a perfect 6-of-6 from behind the arc in the first half.
 
Brianna Byars had four quick points to extend UC's lead to 19 with 6:35 on the clock in the third quarter (49-30). A'riel Jackson provided a spark off the bench, scoring six points in period, as UC led 58-42 with one quarter to go. 
 
Toledo made a push in the fourth quarter, pulling within nine with one minute remaining (67-58). The teams traded free throws as UC held on to defeat Toledo, 71-60.

Cincinnati will participate in the 2023 U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam tournament on Nov. 23-25 in St. Thomas, USVI. The Bearcats will face Colorado and NC State – both 2023 NCAA Tournament teams – in addition to Kentucky in the tournament.
