Swimming and Diving Gears Up For Busy Weekend

CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati swimming and diving program gears up for a busy weekend as they travel to Greensboro, N.C. for the U.S. Open and to Bloomington, Ind. for a dual meet against Indiana University.

CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati swimming and diving program gears up for a busy weekend as they travel to Greensboro, N.C. for the Toyota U.S. Open and to Bloomington, Ind. for a dual meet against Indiana University.
 
The two competitions will close out the fall season for the Bearcats before they head to Biscayne Bay. Fla. for the CSCAA Open Water Championships on Dec. 17. 
 
// TOYOTA U.S. OPEN
The Toyota U.S. Open will take place from Nov. 29 – Dec. 2 inside the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
 
Session times for this competition are 9 a.m. for prelims and 6 p.m. for finals. The Wednesday distance session will also begin at 6 p.m.
 
The Cincinnati athletes competing in Greensboro include sophomore Joleigh Crye, sophomore Lily Jones, senior Hunter Gubeno, senior Tommy Eaton, senior Drew Hawthorne and graduate student Jon Osa.
 
Live stream will be available on the USA Swimming website as well as Peacock. 
 
// INDIANA DUAL
The Bearcats will face Indiana University inside Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatic Center on Friday, Dec. 1 beginning at 2 p.m.
 
Last time out, Cincinnati recorded seven top-ten program times, highlighted by sophomore Ido Gal's performance in the 1650-yard freestyle.
 
Gal swam the seventh-fastest 1650-yard (15:18.95) in program history and his 1000-yard split time of 9:15.17 was the ninth-fastest in program history.
 
Crye grabbed an event win in the 100-yard butterfly, recording a time of 54.16.
 
Both Bearcat teams would go on to fall to the Hoosiers, the men's team losing 121-163, while the women's team fell 110-161.
