Cincinnati Plays at Southern Indiana Sunday

The University of Cincinnati women's basketball team will play its final non-conference road game on Sunday at Southern Indiana. Tip-off between the Bearcats and Screaming Eagles is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET in Evansville, Ind.

CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women's basketball team will play its final non-conference road game on Sunday at Southern Indiana. Tip-off between the Bearcats and Screaming Eagles is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET in Evansville, Ind.

  • Cincinnati earned its fourth straight win on Wednesday night, defeating Howard 87-62 inside Fifth Third Arena. With the win, the Bearcats tied their longest win streak since the 2020-21 season (Feb. 24-March 8, 2021).
  • Cincinnati won its fourth straight home game for its longest home win streak since the Bearcats won 12 in a row in 2019-20.
  • Entering Wednesday's game, senior Jillian Hayes needed 19 points to eclipse 1,000 points for her career. She hit the milestone in the third quarter and became the 30th player in program history to surpass 1,000 career points. She led four Bearcats in double figures vs. Howard with her ninth career 20-point effort.
  • Senior Malea Williams recorded her first career double-double vs. Howard, tying her career high in points (16) and rebounds (10). The performance was fueled by a career-high four three-pointers (4-6 3FG), four assists and two blocks.
  • Williams is averaging 14.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks and is shooting 55.6% from three-point range (5-9) over the last two games.
  • Sophomore Braylyn Milton finished with season highs in points (17) and assists (6) vs. Howard. She guided UC to a season-high 21 assists on 28 made field goals.
  • Hayes is averaging nearly a double-double with 12.8 points and 8.3 rebounds and is shooting 50.0% from the field this season. She sits fifth in the Big 12 and 86th nationally in rebounds per game (8.3). She also ranks ninth in the league in free throw percentage (.818).
  • Freshman Reagan Jackson chipped in 10 points vs. Howard for her fifth straight game in double figures. She is averaging 13.0 points and 2.4 rebounds and is shooting 40.8% from the field (20-49), 42.9% from 3-pt range (9-21) and 941.1% from the charity stripe (16-17) over the past five games.  
  • Cincinnati has made 206 trips to the free throw line this season, making 155 of its attempts (.752). The free throw percentage is good for third in the league and 61st in the country. Reagan Jackson ranks fifth in the Big 12 and 58th nationally in free throw percentage (.871).
  • The Bearcats sit first in the Big 12 and 14th nationally in free throws made per game (17.22). UC is 6-1 when it makes more free throws than its opponent.
  • UC ranks 37th in the nation in three-point field goal defense, holding its opponents to 24.7% from behind the arc.
  • Cincinnati is 4-1 in games decided by 21 points or more. The Bearcats earned their largest margin of victory vs. Howard on Dec. 13 (+25). The four wins by 21 points or more are the most in a single season since the Bearcats had seven in 2019-20.
  • The Bearcats are 5-0 when they outrebound their opponent. UC sits 24th in the country in offensive rebounds per game (15.8). Cincinnati pulled down a season-high 24 offensive boards vs. Tennessee State (Dec. 1), the most in a single game since the Bearcats had 31 at SEMO on Nov. 11, 2016.

  • The Bearcats claimed the first-ever meeting, 99-57, on Dec. 18, 2022 in Cincinnati. Mya Jackson posted a team-high 19 points, while Jillian Hayes recorded 15 points and eight rebounds.
  • This is the final of three Ohio Valley Conference opponents the Bearcats will face during the non-conference slate. UC defeated Lindenwood, 81-62, on Nov. 15 and Tennessee State, 76-52, on Dec. 1.
