CINCINNATI – Running back Jerome Ford and right tackle James Hudson III led the Cleveland Browns to a 36-23 victory over the Houston Texans on Sunday to highlight Bearcats in the NFL Week 16 performances.
Ford rushed for 25 yards and a touchdown, while Hudson played every snap for a Browns team that improved to 10-5 on the season.
Ford, Hudson and the Browns can clinch a playoff berth with a victory over Sauce Gardner and the New York Jets on Thursday night in the NFL's primetime Week 17 game. The Browns vs. Jets matchup will feature three recent UC stars and will be televised tonight at 8:15 p.m. ET on Amazon Prime.
Other notable Bearcats' performances from Week 16 included a six-tackle, one-TFL effort from defensive end Myjai Sanders, who saw his first significant action of the season for the Texans in the matchup with the Browns.
Gardner helped lead the Jets to a 30-28 win over the Washington Commanders with two tackles as New York allowed just 143 passing yards.
Tight End Josiah Deguara (fumble recovery) and linebacker Eric Wilson (one tackle) made plays in the Green Bay Packers' 33-30 win over the Carolina Panthers that helped keep their playoff hopes alive.
Wide receiver Alec Pierce had three catches for 30 yards for the Indianapolis Colts in a 29-10 loss to the Atlanta Falcons, while Minnesota Vikings linebacker Ivan Pace Jr. made four tackles in a 30-24 defeat to the Detroit Lions.
Defensive back Coby Bryant had four tackles in the Seattle Seahawks 20-17 win over the Tennessee Titans to remain in contention for the playoffs. Wide receiver Chris Moore had a nine-yard catch for the Titans.
Wide receiver Tre Tucker had one rush for five yards and one reception for the Las Vegas Raiders, who picked up arguably the biggest upset of the week with a 20-14 win at Kansas City. Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce finished with five catches for 44 yards.
Led by All-Pro center Jason Kelce, the Philadelphia Eagles totaled 465 yards en route to a 33-26 victory over the Giants to improve to 11-4 on the season.
