CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati swimming and diving program defeated Xavier on Friday night inside Keating Aquatic Center.
The men raced past the Musketeers with a score of 199-63, while the women claimed a 179-83 victory.
// HOW IT HAPPENED
Cincinnati started off strong winning the men's and women's 200-yard medley relays.
Grace Gavin, Joleigh Crye, Sonja Aarsvold and Jessica Davis set the tone with a time of 1:42.45.
The team of Jon Osa, Brogan Robinson, Drew Hawthorne and Hunter Gubeno followed in dominating fashion with a time of 1:30.32.
Leading the Bearcats to victory was sophomore Brogan Robinson who recorded three individual event wins in the 200-yard individual medley (1:53.31), 100-yard breaststroke (56.18) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:03.33).
Junior Annabelle Young notched her first event win of the season in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of (5:05.16).
In the final home meet of his career, Gubeno claimed wins in the 200-yard backstroke (1:46.48) and the 50-yard freestyle (20.91).
Davis also closed out her Keating Aquatic Center career by finishing first in the 100-yard freestyle (51.03) and second in the 50-yard freestyle (23.30).
In the 1000-yard freestyle, sophomore Ido Gal and freshman Libby Michel claimed victories for the Bearcats recording times of (9:35.62) and (10:22.58) respectively.
To close out the day, the team of Osa, Brennan Muramatsu, Owen Holland and Jet Fuhrmann won the 200-yard freestyle relay earning a time of 1:22.99.
