Senior Malea Williams notched the game-winning steal and score as the University of Cincinnati women's basketball team defeated Oklahoma State on Wednesday night in Fifth Third Arena.

CINCINNATI – Senior Malea Williams notched the game-winning steal and score as the University of Cincinnati women's basketball team defeated Oklahoma State on Wednesday night in Fifth Third Arena.
 
With the score tied at 56 with 17 seconds remaining, Williams intercepted OSU's hand-off and made the game-winning layup with two seconds on the clock (58-56).

The Bearcats (10-8, 2-5 Big 12) pulled out their 10th win of the season in a game that featured nine ties and six lead changes. Four Bearcats finished with nine-or-more points in the victory, behind 10 points and six boards from senior Jillian Hayes, who played in her 100th career game.
 
Reagan Jackson, A'riel Jackson and Ta'Ziah Jenks all turned in nine points. In total, 10 Bearcats recorded a point in the victory.  
 
The Bearcats shot 33.3% from the floor (19-57 FG) and 31.3% from 3-point range (5-16 3FG). The Cowgirls finished 34% from the field (16-47 FG) and made seven three-pointers (.292).
 
Cincinnati received valuable contributions from its bench, owning a plus-19 advantage in the category (23-4). The Bearcats also won the rebounding battle for the sixth time in Big 12 action (39-35).
 
The Bearcats got out to a 9-3 start at the first quarter media timeout. Five different Bearcats scored during the stretch. UC led by three after the first 10 minutes of play (12-9).
 
OSU scored the first seven points of the second quarter to take its first lead of the game (16-12). The Bearcats responded with an 8-0 run to jump back in front (23-20). Jenks and Reagan Jackson each made a three-pointer with under two minutes remaining to help UC own a five-point lead at the break (30-25). Cincinnati held OSU without a field goal for the final 2:48 of the half.
 
The Bearcats struggled offensively in the third quarter, shooting just 21% in the frame. OSU went on a 7-0 run over four minutes to lead by five (37-32). UC ended its scoring drought after back-to-back baskets from Brianna Byars and Hayes (37-37). Reagan Jackson drained her second three-pointer as the score was tied with one quarter to go (42-42).
 
The fourth quarter featured four ties and four lead changes. The Bearcats took the lead after four straight points from Clarissa Craig (50-48). UC fought off a Cowgirl run to even up the game with three minutes remaining (54-54). With the score tied at 56 with 17 seconds remaining, Williams intercepted Oklahoma State's pass and went coast-to-coast for the game-winning layup (58-56).
