CLEMSON, S.C.—  Graduate student Hannah Jackson's monster performance in the women's weight throw highlighted the University of Cincinnati track and field program's weekend inside the Clemson Indoor Track and Field Complex as the Bearcats wrapped up competition Bob Pollock Invitational on Saturday.

Jackson's personal best weight throw of 19.53m / 64' 1" not only secured her third place in the competition but also allowed her to join the elite UC weight throw company as she became only the third Bearcat ever to record a mark over 64 feet.

Her throw tied former Bearcat Miriam Merrill throw for the second-best weight throw mark in program history. Merrill recorded her mark during the 2001 season and it stood as the school record for 17 years before 2024 Olympic hopeful and former NCAA weight throw champion Annette Echikunwoke demolished the school record with a throw of 24.78m / 81' 3.75" in 2018.

In total, Bearcats recorded five UC all-time top 10 marks over the course of the two-day meet.

Graduate student Maddie Walker joined Jackson in rewriting UC history on day one of the invitational as she ran the fourth-fastest mile in program history with a time of 4:50.91. Running in the women's mile invitational section, she placed sixth overall.

Not to be outdone, both distance runner's graduate student Tyler Wirth and sophomore Claire Curtsinger dominated the 3,000m competitions on day two.

Wirth, who last week broke the UC mile record and is the only Bearcat to ever run a sub-four mile placed second overall in the men's 3,000m invitational section with a time of 7:59.64. He is now the fifth Bearcat ever to break the 8-minute mark in the event.

Curtsinger improved on her personal best time by more the eight seconds and placed third overall in the women's 3,000m with a time of 9:48.06 which moved her from ninth to sixth in the UC record book.

Freshman Davenae Fagan once again showcased her speed as she ran the eighth-fastest 200m in school history with a time of 24.24. This marked her third top-10 time of the season as she ran the eighth-fastest 60m (7.58) and the fifth-fastest 300m (38.78) in school history earlier this year.

Other notable marks include junior Abby Knouff clearing 4.15m / 13' 7.25" in the women's pole vault for the third time this season as she placed fourth overall in the event and graduate student Giovanni Gutierrez placing sixth in the men's shot put with a season-best throw of 17.99m / 59' 0.25".
