CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati swimming and diving program will compete in back-to-back meets to close out the 2023-24 regular season, starting Friday at the University of Kentucky.

CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati swimming and diving program will compete in back-to-back meets to close out the 2023-24 regular season, starting Friday at the University of Kentucky.
 
The Bearcats will take on the Wildcats inside Lancaster Aquatic Center in Lexington, Ky. with competition beginning at 4 p.m.
 
UC will then hit the road for a quick trip to Louisville to face the No. 8/15 Cardinals inside Ralph Wright Natatorium, starting at 12 p.m on Saturday. 
 
// CROSSTOWN RIVAL VICTORY
Cincinnati is coming off a great weekend against crosstown rival, Xavier, with the men's and women's teams earning victories.
 
Leading the Bearcats was sophomore Brogan Robinson, who recorded three individual event wins in the 200-yard individual medley (1:53.31), 100-yard breaststroke (56.18) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:03.33).
 
Junior Annabelle Young notched her first event win of the season in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of (5:05.16).
 
In the final home meet of his career, senior Hunter Gubeno claimed wins in the 200-yard backstroke (1:46.48) and the 50-yard freestyle (20.91).
 
Senior Jessica Davis also closed out her Keating Aquatic Center career by finishing first in the 100-yard freestyle (51.03) and second in the 50-yard freestyle (23.30).
 
// LAST TIME VS. THE WILDCATS
Both teams fell short to then ranked No. 14 Kentucky in their final dual meets of the season inside the Keating Aquatic Center.
 
The Bearcats performance was highlighted by senior Hunter Gubeno winning his 14th individual event win after claiming first in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:49.19.
 
He also placed second in the 100-yard backstroke clocking in at 49.41 seconds.
 
The women found success in the 200-yard freestyle relay with the team of senior Jessica Davis, sophomore Joleigh Crye, Kaylee Nagel and Meghan Fleury took home first place, finishing with a time of 1:35.00.
 
// LAST TIME VS. THE CARDS
Sophomore Joleigh Crye capped off her rookie season by winning the women's 100-yard breaststroke and breaking her own program record with a time of 59.57.
 
Both teams would go on to fall to Louisville.
 
On the men's side, sophomore Collin Singler in the 100-yard butterfly (48.66) and junior Will Claus in the 10-meter dive (252.38) also tallied second-place finishes.
 
// UP NEXT
For the first time in program history, the Bearcats will head to Morgantown, W.Va. to compete in the Big 12 Conference Championship from Feb. 27-Mar. 2.
