- Cincinnati (10-10, 2-7 Big 12) is coming off a 54-46 road loss to Houston on Tuesday night. The Bearcats pulled within four with five minutes to go but went without a field goal for the final 4:44 minutes of the game.
- The Bearcats return home following a two-game, five-day road trip in Texas. UC finished the month of January with a 2-6 record. The slate featured five road games and four games against top-50 NET teams.
- Reagan Jackson and A'riel Jackson led the Bearcats with 13 points apiece vs. Houston. The duo has led the team in scoring in three of the last four games.
- Reagan Jackson is averaging 10.0 points and 4.3 rebounds and is shooting 42.9% from the floor over the last four games. A'riel Jackson is averaging 10.0 points and 1.3 assists and is shooting 81.8% from the free throw line (9-11 FT) during the stretch.
- Senior Jillian Hayes nearly finished with a double-double vs. Houston, pulling down a team-high nine rebounds (seven offensive) to go along with 10 points and two blocks. She has led the team in rebounds 13 times and blocks eight times this season.
- Hayes is averaging nearly a double-double with 11.9 points and 8.1 rebounds and is shooting 44.6% from the field this season. She sits sixth in the Big 12 and 101st nationally in rebounds per game (8.1).
- Senior Malea Williams sits seventh in the Big 12 in blocks per game (1.1). She has recorded six multi-block performances and has led the team in blocks 10 times this season. She currently ranks sixth in blocks (87) in program history.
- Williams is averaging 6.4 rebounds per game, a +1.9 improvement from the 2022-23 season – good for the second-largest improvement among Big 12 players (played in 75% of team games for both seasons).
- Cincinnati and Texas lead the Big 12 and country with eight different leading scorers apiece. Big 12 teams have had a total of 84 different players lead a team in scoring, the most of any D-1 conference this season.
- Cincinnati has outrebounded its opponent in 14 games this season and has either won or matched the rebounding battle in eight of their nine Big 12 contests. UC sits second in the league and 29th in the country in offensive rebounds per game (14.7).
- Hayes currently ranks fourth all-time at UC in career blocks with 115. She is two blocks away from a third-place tie with Anita Tersigni (1981-84) with 117. She also ranks sixth in rebounds (737), seventh in free throws made (329) and t-eighth in steals (166) in program history. She has made 98 consecutive starts in 102 games played.
- Cincinnati has made 416 trips to the free throw line this season, making 304 of its attempts (.731). The Bearcats sit second in the Big 12 and 25th nationally in free throws made per game (15.2). UC has made more free throws than its opponent in 12 games this season and is 8-4 when holding the advantage.
- Hayes is getting to the free throw line at a high rate, making the third-most foul shots in the Big 12 (85-108 FT). She sits ninth in the league in free throw percentage (.787).
- Cincinnati is 10-0 when leading at the half, and 8-0 when leading with five minutes remaining. Conversely, the Bearcats are 0-10 when trailing at the break, and 1-10 when trailing with five minutes to go.
- The Bearcats are No. 97 in the NET rankings, updated as of February 2 – their highest-ever ranking in the NET era. UC picked up its highest NET win against Oklahoma State (No. 57) on Jan. 24.
- The Bearcats committed just 11 turnovers vs. Oklahoma State on Jan. 24 – its second-lowest total of the season and fewest in Big 12 play. UC has a +1.5 turnover margin in wins. Conversely, the Bearcats are -5.4 in turnover margin in losses.
- UC ranks 13th in the nation in three-point field goal defense, holding its opponents to 25.5% from behind the arc.
- The Bearcats finished non-conference play with an 8-3 record for their best non-conference winning percentage (72.7%) in 15 years. UC won six consecutive games during the stretch for its longest win streak since 2019-20.
