TicketsCINCINNATI – Senior swimming and diving student-athlete Hunter Gubeno was named Big 12 Men's Swimmer of the Week, the league announced Wednesday.
This is Gubeno's first Big 12 weekly accolade of his career.
The Howell, Mich. native made the most of back-to-back dual meets by notching two victories against Kentucky in the 100-yard backstroke (48.06) and the 200-yard backstroke (1:44.67).
Against No. 15 Louisville, Gubeno finished second in the 100-yard backstroke (48.42) and 200-yard backstroke (1:42.79).
He is the sixth Bearcat to receive a conference weekly award and the second to win Men's Swimmer of the Week.
