The University of Cincinnati women's basketball team takes its two-game winning streak into Saturday's showdown with BYU. Tip-off is scheduled for noon inside Fifth Third Arena.

CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women's basketball team takes its two-game winning streak into Saturday's showdown with BYU. Tip-off is scheduled for noon inside Fifth Third Arena.

  • Cincinnati outlasted UCF, 67-61, in a back-and-forth battle on Wednesday night in Orlando, Fla. The Bearcats snapped a six-game losing streak in Orlando for their first season sweep of the Knights since 2014. 
  • The Bearcats earned their first road win in Big 12 action to improve to 12-10 overall, 4-7 in the Big 12. The 12 wins are the most in a season since 2019-20.
  • UC shot 41.8% from the floor (23-55 FG) vs. UCF – its best in Big 12 play. The Bearcats are averaging 70.5 points and shooting 41.7% from the floor over their last two games. 
  • Senior Jillian Hayes finished with her second straight double-double with team highs in points (13) and rebounds (11) vs. UCF. It was her seventh double-double of the season, and 20th of her career. She made her 100th consecutive start in the win.
  • Hayes is averaging 15.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, 3.0 blocks and 2.5 steals over the last two games. She has led the team in scoring, rebounding and blocks during the win streak.
  • Redshirt junior Ta'Ziah Jenks scored 10 points (4-8 FG) vs. UCF, including a turnaround jumper with 50 seconds to go to seal the victory. She is averaging 11.5 points and is shooting 55.6% from the floor over the last two games.
  • Junior Clarissa Craig went a perfect 4-for-4 from the floor (12 points) vs. UCF. Cincinnati improved to 9-3 when three-or-more players finish in double figures.
  • Cincinnati continues to climb in the NET rankings, moving up to No. 90 following their win over UCF – their highest-ever in the NET era.
  • Hayes is averaging nearly a double-double with 12.2 points and 8.4 rebounds and is shooting 43.9% from the field this season. She sits fourth in the Big 12 in rebounding (8.4) and 10th in blocks (0.9).
  • Senior Malea Williams sits sixth in the Big 12 in blocks per game (1.0). She has recorded six multi-block performances and has led the team in blocks 10 times this season. She currently ranks sixth in blocks (88) in program history.
  • With six blocks over the last two games, Hayes has moved into third all-time at UC in career blocks (121). She is 10 blocks away from a second-place tie with II'mar'I Thomas (2018-21) with 131.
  • Hayes has 760 career rebounds and is four away from ranking inside the top-5 in the category in program history (764). She also sits seventh in free throws made (342) and eighth in steals (171). She is the only player in UC women's basketball history to record over 700 rebounds, 300 free throws, 170 steals and 120 blocks in their career. 
  • Cincinnati has outrebounded its opponent in 15 games this season and has either won or matched the rebounding battle in nine of its 11 Big 12 contests (+2.9 margin).
  • UC sits second in the league and 26th in the country in offensive rebounds per game (14.6). The Bearcats averaged 20.5 offensive boards in two games last week – the second-best average in the nation (Jan. 29-Feb. 4).
  • Cincinnati has made 470 trips to the free throw line this season, making 340 of its attempts (.723). The Bearcats sit second in the Big 12 and 23rd nationally in free throws made per game (15.3). UC has made more free throws than its opponent in 13 games this season and is 9-4 when holding the advantage.
  • Hayes is getting to the free throw line at a high rate, making the second-most foul shots in the Big 12 (98-128 FT). She sits ninth in the league in free throw percentage (.766). She has now made 90-plus free throws in three straight seasons. 
  • Cincinnati is 11-0 when leading at the half, and 10-0 when leading with five minutes remaining. Conversely, the Bearcats are 1-10 when trailing at the break, and 1-10 when trailing with five minutes to go. The Bearcats overcame a first-half deficit for the first time this season at UCF (Feb. 7).
  • UC ranks 11th in the nation in three-point field goal defense, holding its opponents to 25.4% from behind the arc.
