CINCINNATI  – Super Bowl LVIII will be the 27th Super Bowl featuring a Cincinnati Bearcat. Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce will represent the Bearcats in the big game along with his injured teammate Bryan Cook. They represent the 31st and 32nd Bearcats ever to appear in the Super Bowl.

Kelce is 2-1 in the Super Bowl and will look to win his third in four appearances. Last season, Kelce and Cook become the 17th and 18th Bearcats to win a Super Bowl.

Sunday will represent the fifth consecutive year a Bearcat has been in the Super Bowl, with 17 out of the last 19 Super Bowls showcasing a Cincinnati alum.

The future Hall of Famer currently sits with the seventh-most receptions in Super Bowl history (22). Kelce needs 11 receptions on Sunday to tie Jerry Rice (33) for the record. Fellow tight end Rob Gronkowski ranks second with 29 catches.

Kelce has 257 receiving yards in the Super Bowl, which ranks ninth all-time. He needs 67 more yards to crack the top five in Super Bowl history, which would move him past Bills wide receiver Andre Reed (323) for the fifth-most yards in the big game. Rice (589), Gronkowski (364) and Lynn Swann (364) rank 1-2-3 in Super Bowl history in receiving yards.

Kelce caught 93 passes for 984 yards and five touchdowns in the 2023 regular season. In three playoff games this postseason, he has 262 yards and three scores on 23 receptions.

Kelce had six receptions for 81 yards and a touchdown in the Chiefs' 38-35 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles and his brother, Jason Kelce, in last year's Super Bowl.

Kelce is a five-time All-Pro honoree, including this fall. He played at UC from 2009 to 2012, and recently launched the Eighty-Seven & Running Foundation, an endowment that will fund Cincinnati's Sports Psychology and Counseling Department, directly impacting and aiding all 450 student-athletes.

Cook, who was the starting safety for the Bearcats 2021 CFP team, impressed in 12 games (all starts) this season, totaling 42 tackles, an interception and two fumble recoveries.
