Lacrosse Hosts No. 10 Michigan Wednesday in Nippert Stadium

The University of Cincinnati lacrosse team hosts 10th-ranked Michigan in its home opener on Wednesday afternoon inside Nippert Stadium.

CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati lacrosse team hosts 10th-ranked Michigan in its home opener on Wednesday afternoon inside Nippert Stadium.

Opening draw is set to begin at 3 p.m. Admission is free for fans.
 
// CONFERENCE ACCOLADES
Sophomore attacker Camryn Callaghan was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll following her performance in the Bearcats' season opener.
 
Against 2023 NCAA tournament qualifier Marquette, the Upper Arlington native recorded six goals, ranking her an early second in the conference.
 
Her nine shots on goal also put her second in the conference. She went 3-for-3 in free position goals against the Golden Eagles.
 
// SERIES HISTORY
This will be the fourth overall meeting between the two schools. The series began in 2019 when the Wolverines came out on top 19-9.
 
Last time out, Michigan defeated Cincinnati 16-3 in Ann Arbor, with senior midfielder Ava Goeller earning two goals for the Bearcats.
 
Graduate student defender Dani Mlkvy had eight draw controls.

Michigan comes into the match-up ranked 10th in the most recent ILWomen/WLCA Division I poll after holding Jacksonville to one goal in their season opener.
 
The Wolverines earned goals from 10 different players, with three recording hat tricks.
 
Junior attacker Jill Smith led the team with four goals, six points and two assists.
 
On the defensive side, junior attacker Jane Fetterolf picked up three ground balls to pair with her three goals.
