LEXINGTON, Ky.– The University of Cincinnati swimming and diving program fell to Kentucky inside Lancaster Aquatic Center on Friday.
The Bearcats took home six event wins, highlighted by senior Jessica Davis who tallied a first-place win in the 50-yard freestyle (22.98) and second-place in the 100-yard freestyle (50.27)
Cincinnati started the meet off with the men's and women's 400-yard medley relays earning second-place finishes.
Jon Osa, Hunter Gubeno, Brogan Robinson and Drew Hawthorne recorded a time of 3:13.99.
On the women's side, the team of Jessica Davis, Grace Gavin, Joleigh Crye and Sonja Aarsvold notched a time of 3:39.25.
Gubeno went on to grab a first-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke, recording a time of 48.06.
Crye had strong performances in the 100-yard breaststroke (59.09) and 100-yard butterfly (54.04), finishing first and second, respectively.
Osa found success in the 100-yard freestyle, claiming the top spot with a time of 44.23.
Freshman Dean Sherrer claimed his first top-three finish as a Bearcat in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:39.41.
To cap off the night, the 200-yard freestyle relay team of Gubeno, Hawthorne, Osa and Jet Fuhrmann found the wall first, earning a time of 1:20.47.
The women's team fell 93-207, while the men fell short, 111-186.
