TicketsCINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team (5-2) fell to cross-town rival Xavier, 7-0, on Friday at the Eastern Hills Indoor Tennis Club.
Xavier came out fast, securing the doubles point.
Sophomore Rozalia Gruszczynska and freshman Gabrielle Guenther fell 6-1 to Anna Roggenburk and Imani Graham on court one.
The doubles point was decided on court two, where junior Callie Flanagan and graduate senior Victoire de Samucewicz dropped their match 6-3 against Abby Nugent and Ellie Brotherton.
In singles, Xavier won all six matches. Gruszczynska battled tough against Roggenburk, but eventually fell 6-2, 4-6, 5-7.
UP NEXT:
The Bearcats return home to host Baylor on Friday, March 1 and TCU on Sunday, March 3, at the Trabert-Talbert Tennis Center. Game time against the Bears is scheduled for 12 p.m. on Friday and the first serve against the Horned Frogs is at 12 p.m. on Sunday.
