CINCINNATI – The Cincinnati lacrosse team claimed a 17-4 victory over Butler on Sunday.
The Bearcats (3-2) have now won three straight, outscoring their last three opponents 49-8.
Sophomore attacker Camryn Callaghan has recorded a hat trick in four of the Bearcats' last five games. She finished with five goals, one assist, nine shots and one groundball.
Cincinnati started off hot with senior Lauren Ottensmeyer scoring four goals, all within the first quarter, giving UC an 8-2 lead.
Senior Elizabeth Murphy provided assistance to five of the Bearcats' 17 goals, a new career-high. Junior Kylie Gioia picked up three goals, one shy of her career-high.
Freshman Lilly Stelzer contributed to UC's success by securing her first collegiate goal at the 3:17 mark of the fourth quarter.
On the defensive side, graduate student Dani Mlkvy grabbed five draw controls and two groundballs. Graduate student goalkeeper Victoria Macres registered six saves with a .600 save percentage.
The Bearcats dominated the Bulldogs to improve to 6-0 in the series.
