CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati swimming and diving program will travel to Morgantown, W.V. to compete in the Big 12 Conference Championships this week.
The championship will be hosted by West Virginia and held inside Mylan Park Aquatic Center. The five-day meet will begin Tuesday with events starting at 5 p.m.
Five men's programs and eight women's programs will compete this year. This is the Bearcats' first time competing in the Big 12 Championships after spending the past 10 years as members of the American Athletic Conference.

In the AAC, the men's team secured back-to-back conference titles in 2017-18 and 2018-19.

At its midseason competition, Cincinnati recorded eight school records and 85 top-ten program times, highlighted by the team of Grace Gavin, Joleigh Crye, Sonja Aarsvold and Jessica Davis who broke school records in the 200-yard medley relay (1:38.76) and in the 400-yard medley relay (3:18.36).
Senior Hunter Gubeno has had a stellar season, most recently earning victories in the 100-yard backstroke (48.06) and 200-yard backstroke (1:44.67) against Kentucky.

Fifth-year Jon Osa has made a strong impact throughout the season notching five top-ten program times in the 50-yard backstroke (9th/22.86), 100-yard backstroke (5th/48.38), 200-yard backstroke (3rd/1:44.36), 50-yard freestyle (3rd/19.87) and the 100-yard freestyle (5th/43.78).
On the women's side, senior Jessica Davis shines in the water recording top-ten program times in the 50-yard freestyle (2nd/22.75), 100-yard freestyle (2nd/49.32) and the 100-yard breaststroke (6th/1:01.89).
Sophomore Grace Gavin set a new program record in the 100-yard backstroke (54.23) and a new long-course program record in the 200-yard individual medley (2:21.41).
