Rich and Callaghan Earn AAC Defender and Attacker of the Week

CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati lacrosse junior defender Alexis Rich and sophomore attacker Camryn Callaghan earned AAC Defender of the Week and Attacker of the Week, respectively, following their weekend performances.

CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati lacrosse junior defender Alexis Rich and sophomore attacker Camryn Callaghan earned AAC Defender of the Week and Attacker of the Week, respectively, following their weekend performances.

Both Bearcats contributed heavily in their victories over Central Michigan and Butler.

Against the Bulldogs, Rich grabbed six groundballs and five caused turnovers. She recorded three groundballs and two caused turnovers versus Central Michigan.

This season, she has started all five games and registered 14 groundballs.

This is Rich's first conference accolade of her career.

Callaghan led the team with five goals against Central Michigan and Butler. She leads the conference in goals per game (4.60) and sits third in points per game (5.00).

The Upper Arlington, Ohio native received Freshman of the Week five times last season, ultimately being named AAC Freshman of the Year after the 2023 season.

This will be her first Attacker of the Week honor following back-to-back Honor Roll awards. 

Rich and Callaghan will return to Nippert Stadium on Thursday to take on Youngstown State. Opening draw is set for 4 p.m.
