CINCINNATI – The Cincinnati lacrosse team welcomes Youngstown State to Nippert Stadium Thursday evening for Pride Night.
 
Opening draw is set for 4 p.m.
 
Junior defender Alexis Rich and sophomore attacker Camryn Callaghan received conference honors this week, after their strong performances in the Bearcats' victories against Central Michigan and Butler.
 
Dubbed the AAC Defender of the Week, Rich grabbed six groundballs and five caused turnovers against Butler. She recorded three groundballs and two caused turnovers versus Central Michigan.

This season, she has started all five games and registered 14 groundballs.
 
Callaghan was named Attacker of the Week as she led the team with five goals against Central Michigan and Butler. She leads the conference in goals per game (4.60) and sits third in points per game (5.00).

Senior midifelder Lauren Ottensmeyer registered her 100th career goal against Butler, becoming the seventh player in program history to earn 100 or more goals.
 
Freshmen Ally Keith, Caroline Soller, Lilly Stelzer and Hailey Joy Simpson have made an instant impact for the Bearcats, all scoring their first collegiate goals within the first five games.

This will be the second overall meeting between the two schools with Cincinnati leading 1-0.
 
In the first matchup, the Bearcats were led by senior midfielder Ava Goeller, who scored five goals, and Callaghan who added a hat trick despite being heavily guarded by the Penguins.
 
Senior attacker Elizabeth Murphy added two goals and two assists, and junior attacker Kylie Gioia scored two goals.

The Penguins are under the direction of first year head coach, Rob Harris, who previously spent the last nine years at Davenport.
 
YSU tied for fifth in the MAC Preseason Poll after finishing the 2023 season with a 6-12 overall record and 4-4 MAC record.
 
In their loss against Duquesne, freshman midfielder Genna Cooke led the team with three goals.  
 
Freshman goalie Paige Borkowski matched her career high with 11 saves in goal, allowing 17 Duquesne scores for a .393 save percentage.
