CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati baseball team has added a home game to its schedule on Thursday, Feb. 29 vs. Oakland. The Bearcats will host the Golden Grizzlies at 4 PM at UC Baseball Stadium. Admission to Thursday's game will be free.

UC had an opening in its schedule following the cancellation of its series finale at Jacksonville opening weekend. Oakland's game at Bellarmine scheduled for Wednesday afternoon was also canceled, creating an opportunity for the two teams to play.

There will not be a broadcast for Thursday's game.

This will be the 12th meeting all-time between Cincinnati and Oakland, with UC holding a 10-1 advantage. The last time these two teams faced off was in 2020 when the Bearcats swept a four-game home series against the Golden Grizzlies.

Thursday's game will precede Cincinnati's four-game weekend series vs. Northern Illinois. The series vs. the Huskies will open with a single game on Friday, March 1 beginning at 3 PM. That will be followed by a doubleheader on Saturday, March 2 beginning at noon and the series will wrap up on Sunday at 1 PM.

All four games vs. Northern Illinois this weekend will be broadcast on ESPN+.

UC also leads the all-time series vs. NIU, 4-0. The Huskies visited Cincinnati for a four-game series from March 3-5, 2000 and the Bearcats won all four meetings.
