CINCINNATI -- Chaz Coleman, Cincinnati's Director of Athletic Operations, was named one of 20 Accelerator Mentees by the National Society of Black Sports Professionals and RISE, the national non-profit coalition of major U.S. sports leagues and media networks that uses sports to eliminate racism and champion social justice.

The mentors and mentees, which come nationwide from universities, professional teams and leagues, and other sports and entertainment organizations, took part in a half-day seminar, hosted by the NCAA National Office in Indianapolis during NBA All-Star Weekend.

This Sports Business Executive Accelerator is designed to foster personal and business-oriented professional growth by connecting experienced leaders with high-potential, mid-career mentees. The focus of the program is to guide the mentees in refining and honing the skills that deliver measurable business growth while identifying what steps are needed as their responsibilities and influence within their organization expands.

Coleman joined UC in March 2023 following one year at Mizzou, where he oversaw the Tigers' football facility, Memorial Football Stadium and the gymnastics practice facility. Additionally, he served as the Director of Football Operations at the University of Richmond from 2017 to 2019. He interned in marketing with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Washington Commanders and also served as a graduate assistant in operations at Richmond in 2016.
