CINCINNATI— University of Cincinnati track and field freshman Juliette Laracuente-Huebner will head to Boston and represent the Bearcats in the pentathlon at the 2024 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.
The Marengo, Ohio native qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships after scoring 4,134 points, the second most in program history, at the Big 12 Indoor Track and Field Championships, where she placed third overall on Feb. 23
"It means a lot to me to be competing this weekend," Laracuente-Huebner said. "I am very grateful for this opportunity to go out there and show everyone what I can do."
The 2024 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships will be held Thursday, March 7 to Saturday, March 9, 2024, at The Track at New Balance in Boston, Mass. The pentathlon will be held on Friday, beginning at 9:50 am with the 60m hurdles and followed by the high jump at 11 a.m., the shot put at 1:00 p.m., the long jump at 2:15 p.m., and the 800m at 3:40 p.m.

// JULIETTE LARACUENTE-HUEBNER INTERVIEW
Laracuente-Huebner's score is the 15th-best point total in the NCAA this season, and she will be the only freshman or sophomore to compete in the event at the NCAA Championships.
She is also the only underclassman with a pentathlon score ranked inside the top 16 and the only freshman with a score inside the top 47 in the NCAA. The complete list of qualifiers can be found here
To put into perspective how dominant the freshman phenom has been all season long, she currently holds five marks that rank inside the top 20 in the Big 12. In addition to holding the fifth-best pentathlon score in the conference, she also ranks 13th in the triple jump (12.57m / 41'3"), 14th in the 60m hurdles (6.49), 15th in the long jump (6.06m / 19' 10.75") and 16th in the high jump (1.74m / 5' 8.5").
She will join former Bearcat Jasmine Cotten as the only Cincinnati women to ever qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships in the pentathlon. Cotten competed in the event twice in her career, once in 2009 and again in 2012, when she earned First Team All-America honors after placing seventh overall.
Laracuente-Huebner's appearance will mark the 10th straight NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship that
at least one Bearcat, man or woman, has competed in.
In total, 38 different Bearcats have earned 74 All-America honors since 1964, 31 of which have occurred at the NCAA Indoor Championships.
