CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati baseball team will play its next nine games on the road, a stretch that begins Wednesday afternoon at Miami.

First pitch for the midweek matchup between the Bearcats and RedHawks is set for 4 PM at McKie Field in Oxford. The game will be streamed live on Chatterbox.

This will be the 190th meeting all-time between Cincinnati and Miami. UC won the last meeting, 7-5, on a three-run walk-off home run by Kameron Guidry in extra innings last season on April 11, 2023.

The Bearcats have faced the RedHawks more than any other team in their history, a record that will be tied next week when they visit Louisville for the 190th meeting in the history of that matchup.

Cincinnati is coming off a series win vs. Kansas this past weekend. After dropping the opener on Friday, the Bearcats bounced back to win games two and three to claim their first-ever Big 12 series win.

Following Wednesday's game, UC will visit Saint Louis for a three-game series this weekend. Cincinnati will play at Louisville next Tuesday, March 26 before heading to Baylor for a three-game series on March 28-30.

// LAST TIME OUT
Cincinnati hosted Kansas this past weekend for its first Big 12 home series of the year and took two out of three games from the Jayhawks.

After losing the opener on Friday, 14-4, UC locked the Jayhawks down and outscored them 11-1 over the final two games to win the series.

On Saturday, Tommy Boba's sterling eight-inning outing helped lead Cincinnati to a 1-0 win to even the series. Boba carried a no-hitter into the top of the ninth and, after allowing his first hit, Christian Mitchelle entered the game in relief and closed things out to earn the save.

In the rubber match on Sunday, UC scored in each of the first seven innings to gradually build a lead that proved to be insurmountable. Mitchelle had four hits in that game, and on the mound Nathan Taylor and Carson Marsh dominated KU's hitters all afternoon to seal the series-clinching win.

// TOMMY BOBA EARNS WEEKLY AWARDS
Tommy Boba was named the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week and Perfect Game's National Pitcher of the Week following his fantastic start vs. Kansas on Saturday.

D1Baseball ranked the Top 100 pitching performances from this past weekend by game score, and Boba's mark of 86 was the highest in the country for this weekend's slate of games. The sophomore right-hander struck out eight in eight scoreless frames and had a no-hitter entering the top of the ninth.

Boba faced 32 hitters last week combined between his outings vs. Kansas and Western Illinois and struck out 10 while allowing just four batters to reach base.

// RUN FACTORY
Cincinnati has done a good job manufacturing runs this season, ranking 14th in the nation in stolen bases (45), 15th in sacrifice flies (14), and 17th in walks (130). UC's ability to get runners on base and bring them home has helped them reach double figures in runs on nine occasions this season, and their 8.0 runs per game rank third in the Big 12.
