OXFORD, OHIO – The University of Cincinnati baseball team began its stretch of nine straight road games with an 11-3 win at Miami on Wednesday
The Bearcats (13-9) put up crooked numbers in the fifth and sixth innings to open up a large lead and continued to push runs across in the later innings to put the game out of reach.
Five UC hitters had multi-hit efforts: Lauden Brooks, Tommy O'Connor, Kerrington Cross, Luke Sefcik, and Landyn Vidourek. Sefcik and Vidourek also each drove in a pair of runs, as did Josh Kross and Hunter Jessee.
O'Connor reached base four times against the RedHawks, tallying two walks in addition to his two hits. He tied his career-high with three runs scored.
Brenden Garula made his second start of the year and threw three scoreless innings, striking out four to tie his season-high. He was one of six pitchers to see time on the mound on Wednesday.
Cincinnati heads to St. Louis this weekend for a three-game series vs. the Billikens. The opener is set for Friday at 4 PM ET.

On the mound, Brenden Garula faced little resistance from the Miami hitters he faced in his three innings of work. He allowed a pair of baserunners in the bottom of the second and stranded both and tossed 1-2-3 innings in the first and third.
The RedHawks struck in the bottom of the fourth with a couple runs to go up, 2-1. The tying run scored on a wild pitch and the go-ahead run came in on a sacrifice fly. Josh Kross, Luke Sefcik, and Hunter Jessee ripped back-to-back-to-back RBI singles to give UC a 4-2 lead midway through the game.
Four more Cincinnati runs came in to score in the top of the sixth. Lauden Brooks' RBI double started the rally and Kerrington Cross followed that up with an RBI single into right field. Kross made it 7-2 with a sac fly and Cross later scored on a fielder's choice to push UC's lead to 8-2. The score moved to 9-2 in the top of the seventh after Landyn Vidourek drove in Dalton Pearson, who had led off the inning with a triple.
