TicketsCINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team (6-8) lost to UCF, 4-0, on Friday at the Western Athletic Club.
The Knights landed the doubles point before capturing the first three singles matches to finish on UC's indoor courts.
The freshman partnership of Morgan Pyrz and Sakurako Watanabe handled business on court three, beating Olivia Lincer and Donatella Guarnieri, 6-3 for their team-leading seventh doubles win on the season, but the Bearcats dropped the other two courts.
The doubles point was decided on court one. Sophomore Rozalia Gruszczynska and freshman Gabrielle Guenther battled it out against Anique Kattenberg and Noel Saidenova, narrowly falling, 6-4.
In singles, the Knights won all four matches.
Sophomore Isabel Pacheco was battling on court six before her match was called. Pacheco was leading Mihaela Tsoneva 6-3, 3-4.
