CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati men's swimming and diving senior Hunter Gubeno heads to Indianapolis, Ind. to compete in the 2024 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championship on Wednesday.

The NCAA Men's Championships will kick off March 27-March 30 at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis, Ind. The event is hosted by Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis and the Indiana Sports Corporation.

Gubeno will compete in the 200-yard backstroke on Saturday, March 30, with prelims beginning at 10 a.m. and finals at 6 p.m. He is seeded 21st after qualifying for the meet at the 2024 Big 12 Championships with a time of 1:39.95. This time earned him the silver medal at the conference championships and set a new school record, that was previously set by former Bearcat and assistant coach Blake Hanna.

He will also swim the 200-yard individual medley (Thursday) and 100-yard backstroke (Friday).

The Howell, Mich. Native has continued to be a star for Cincinnati in his senior season. He earned Big 12 Men's Swimmer of the Week, is a member of two school record-holding relays (200-yard freestyle and 400-yard freestyle relay) and registered nine individual event wins.

Throughout his time as a Bearcat, he has set three school records (200-yard backstroke, 100-yard individual medley, 200-yard individual medley), and recorded the second-fastest time in program history in the 50-yard backstroke (21.66), 100-yard backstroke (46.86) and 200-yard. Freestyle (1:35.67).
