Women’s Basketball Lands Two on CSC Academic All-District Team

The University of Cincinnati women's basketball team landed a pair of student-athletes on the Academic All-District® Team, announced by the College Sports Communicators on Tuesday.

CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women's basketball team landed a pair of student-athletes on the Academic All-District® Team, announced by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) on Tuesday.
 
Seniors Jillian Hayes and Malea Williams captured CSC Academic All-District honors for the second time in their careers. The 2024 Academic All-District® Women's Basketball Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
 
Hayes holds a 3.714 GPA and is majoring in interdisciplinary studies. She led the team with 12.9 points and 8.4 rebounds per game and was the only Bearcat to start in all 32 contests. In Cincinnati's record books, Hayes ranks third in blocks (127), fourth in free throws made (403), fifth in rebounds (844), t-seventh in rebounding average (7.4), eighth in steals (183) and 14th in scoring (1,299). Her 159 free throws in 2023-24 rank third for a single season in program history.  
 
Williams, an interdisciplinary studies major with a 3.603 GPA, averaged 8.3 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 31 starts this season. She ranked eighth in the Big 12 in blocks per game (1.1) and recorded 10 multi-block performances. She surpassed 100 career blocks with two vs. UCF on March 7.
 
Honorees must have at least a 3.50 GPA and be a major contributor to their teams on the court.
