BOSTON— University of Cincinnati track and field freshman Juliette Laracuente-Huebner earned Second Team All-America honors after placing 12th overall in the women's pentathlon at the 2024 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday.

Making her NCAA Championship debut, Laracuente-Huebner did not disappoint as she scored 4,040 points on her way to becoming the second indoor pentathlon All-American in program history.

As the only underclassman who qualified for the competition, she began her day by clocking an 8.72 in the 60m hurdles, the 10th fastest time of the day and earned 969 points.

She then turned it up a notch in the high jump section, clearing a personal best bar height of 1.78m / 5' 10", the eighth-best mark in program history. She placed third overall in the section and scored 953 points toward her point total.

The Marengo, Ohio native finished the shot put section with a throw of 9.52m / 31' 2.75" before leaping 6.01m / 19' 8.75" in the long jump where she placed 10th overall in the event and scored 853 points.

She ended her day with a time of 2:24.19 in the 800m, bringing her final score to 4,040.

She joined former Bearcat Jasmine Cotten as the only Cincinnati women to ever earn All-America honors in the women's indoor pentathlon. Cotten competed in the event twice in her career, once in 2009 and again in 2012, when she earned First Team All-America honors after placing seventh overall.

Including Laracuente-Huebner, 39 different Bearcats have earned 75 All-America honors since 1964, 32 of which have occurred at the NCAA Indoor Championships.

She qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships after scoring 4,134 points, the second most in program history, at the Big 12 Indoor Track and Field Championships, where she placed third overall on Feb. 23

She is also the only underclassman with a pentathlon score ranked inside the top 16 and the only freshman with a score inside the top 47 in the NCAA.

Laracuente-Huebner's appearance at the championships marked the 10th straight NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship that at least one Bearcat, man or woman, has competed in.
