MANHATTAN, KAN. – The University of Cincinnati baseball team opened Big 12 Conference play on Friday night at Kansas State, falling to the Wildcats by a score of 4-0.
The Bearcats (8-6, 0-1 Big 12) were unable to do much offensively against the Wildcats' (8-5, 1-0 Big 12) pitching all night, with their four baserunners coming off two walks, an error, and a hit by pitch. K-State hurlers Jacob Frost and Jackson Wentworth combined on the no-hitter.
Game two in the series is set for Saturday at 6 PM ET on ESPN+.

Cincinnati put two runners on in the first and second innings, but was unable to bring anybody home. Tommy O'Connor was UC's first baserunner, reaching on a walk to extend his on-base streak to 29 games. Kansas State would strike first with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the second and extended its lead to 3-0 in the third on a two-run home run.
Seth Logue concluded his night with scoreless frames in the fourth and fifth, but Kansas State struck again in the bottom of the sixth on a solo homer to increase its lead to 4-0.
The 4-0 mark would hold as the final score.
