Track and Field Heads to the Desert for Jim Click Shootout

The University of Cincinnati track and field program will head to Arizona this weekend to compete at the Jim Click Shootout and Multi's in Tucson, Ariz., inside Drachman Stadium.

CINCINNATI— The University of Cincinnati track and field program will head to Arizona this weekend to compete at the Jim Click Shootout and Multi's in Tucson, Ariz., inside Drachman Stadium.
 
The Jim Click Shootout is a two-day meet hosted by future Big 12 member Arizona. The meet will be the second of three regular-season meets that the Bearcats have on the schedule this season hosted by current or future members of the Big 12. UC began the outdoor season at UCF and will head to Baylor on April 19.
 
The meet will begin on Friday at 1:30 p.m. ET with the 100m hurdles portion of the women's heptathlon, while Saturday's events will start at 12:30 p.m. ET with the 110m hurdles section of the men's decathlon. The complete event schedule can be found here.
 
Cincinnati, Kansas, Kansas State, Eastern Michigan, Iowa and Nebraska will make the trip to Tucson. Fans can stay up to date will all of the action via live results found here.
 
// MULTI'S OPEN UP
The Jim Click Shootout will be the first meet this outdoor season in which Bearcats will compete in the heptathlon and decathlon. 2024 indoor All-America freshman Juliette Laracuente-Huebner will make her outdoor season debut in the heptathlon this weekend.   
 
The duo of Justin Abrams, who finished fourth in the men's heptathlon at the 2024 Indoor Big 12 championships, and Dominique Hall, the 2023 AAC decathlon champion, will compete in the decathlon at the meet.
 
// LAST TIME OUT
Cincinnati recorded seven program top-10 marks and three event victories over the weekend as Bearcats competed at the Raleigh Relays in North Carolina and hosted the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational.
 
Graduate student Giovanni Gutierrez (shot put), freshman Tosin Ayodeji (long jump) and the women's 4x400m relay team took home event victories as Cincinnati concluded its lone home meet of the year.
 
Graduate students Maddie Walker and Tyler Wirth both turned heads in their 5,000m races as a small group of distance runners competed at the Raleigh Relays.
