TUCSON, Ariz. — Freshmen Davenae Fagan's two event victories and Juliette Laracuente-Huebner's heptathlon performance led the way for the University of Cincinnati track and field program at the Jim Click Shootout and Multi's over the weekend inside Drachman Stadium.
Fagan had a day to remember in the desert as she picked up a pair of victories in the 400m and 200m events. She earned her first career outdoor event win after clocking 53.54 in the 400m, the fifth fastest time in school history.
The Stone Mountain, Ga., native followed that performance by running a blistering 23.44 in the 200m, which moved her to fifth all-time in program history.
The NCAA Indoor All-American Laracuente-Huebner began her outdoor campaign by competing in her first career heptathlon and placed fourth overall in the event.
The freshman put on a show over the weekend as she tied former Bearcat Katie Straus for the fourth-best point total in program history with a score of 5373 points. On her way to her record total, she placed first in the high jump section with an outdoor personal best mark of 1.76m / 5' 9.25", the ninth-best mark in school history.
Sophomore Robert Hart had a breakout performance in the men's long jump where he destroyed his pervious personal best with a leap of 7.51m / 24' 7.75". Hart's mark moved him to ninth all-time in program history and he placed fifth overall in the event.
In the men's 400m hurdles, sophomore Camden Beatty placed second overall with a time 52.49, which is now the 10th fastest time in school history.
Also recording second-place event finishes were junior Abby Knouff in the women's pole vault with a season-best mark of 4.06m / 13' 3.75" and senior Naquille Harris in the men's 100m dash with a season-best time of 10.39.
