CINCINNATI – The Cincinnati lacrosse team welcomes No. 9 Florida to Nippert Stadium for Senior Day on Saturday. Opening draw is set for 12:02 p.m. with senior recognition taking place prior.

CINCINNATI – The Cincinnati lacrosse team welcomes No. 9 Florida to Nippert Stadium for Senior Day on Saturday. Opening draw is set for 12 p.m. with senior recognition taking place prior.  
 
The Bearcats (10-5, 2-2) suffered a tough road loss against Temple last Saturday. Cincinnati sits fourth in the American with hopes to find themselves in the 2024 American Athletic Conference Tournament. The top four teams advance and will begin play on May 2 in Nashville, Tenn., hosted by Vanderbilt.
 
For the first time in program history, Cincinnati boasts two 50 goal scorers in a single season. Sophomore Camryn Callaghan and senior Lauren Ottensmeyer have 55 apiece. Both rank in the top-ten in the nation.
 
In this week's American Athletic Conference weekly awards, freshman Hailey Joy Simpson grabbed her fourth Freshman of the Week honors after contributing on both sides against the Owls. She recorded two goals, two groundballs and three draw controls.
 
Callaghan was named to this week's honor roll after scoring three goals and recording an assist against Temple.
 
A win would be Cincinnati's first ranked win of the season (0-2) and in program history. The Bearcats are 0-46 against ranked opponents.
 
The Bearcats' scoring defense ranks 18th in the nation alongside their 28th-ranked scoring offense. UC is tied for 33rd in win percentage (.667).
 
// SERIES HISTORY
Cincinnati is looking for its first win over Florida. The two schools will meet for the 13th time.
 
Last time out, the Gators jumped out to an 11-1 lead in the first quarter and never looked back for a 20-5 win on Mar. 25, 2023.
 
The two teams have met in the AAC tournament twice (2019, 2021) with Florida winning both.
 
// SCOUTING THE GATORS
Florida ranks top-ten in Division I in assists per game (2nd), clearing percentage (1st), points per game (1st), scoring margin (1st) and shot percentage (1st) among other categories.
 
The Gators are led by Maggi Hall registered her 100th career assist against Old Domuinion on March 23rd.
 
Graduate student Emily Heller has had a point in 22 straight games with a goal in 17 straight. She has recorded 30 goals this season.
