CINCINNATI – Fresh off a series win at UCF over the weekend, the University of Cincinnati baseball team will visit in-state foe Ohio State on Tuesday evening in midweek action.

First pitch between the Bearcats (25-19) and Buckeyes (20-20) is set for 6 PM at Bill Davis Stadium.

Cincinnati has won four of the last five meetings against Ohio State, though both teams split the season series when they last met in 2022. UC won at home, 5-4, on March 2, 2022 and OSU won, 5-3, on May 17 of that season.

The Bearcats have won each of their last two weekend series, taking two out of three from Houston on April 19-21 and winning two at UCF this past weekend. With three weekends left in the regular season, Cincinnati sits in sixth place in the Big 12 standings and is three games back of second-place teams Oklahoma State and West Virginia.

Cincinnati returns home this weekend to host WVU in a three-game conference series. First pitch for Friday's opener is set for 5 PM at UC Baseball Stadium.

// LAST TIME OUT
Cincinnati visited UCF this past weekend and won the series to keep its place among the middle of the Big 12 standings. UC won the opener, 9-4, and took the finale, 8-2.

Entering the weekend, UCF had been ranked atop the Big 12 in team ERA (4.20) and seventh in the nation in hits allowed per nine innings (7.53) and the Bearcats were able to tag their pitching staff with 19 runs  and 27 hits over the three games.

In Friday's win, UC trailed 4-1 heading into the last third of the game before pushing eight total runs across in the seventh and eighth innings. Cincinnati flipped the script a bit on Sunday by taking an early lead with a three-run first inning, but again piled on the Knights' bullpen and scored four insurance runs in the top of the ninth to secure the victory.

Luke Sefcik hit .545 (6-for-11) at UCF and tied for the team lead with four runs driven in. Lauden Brooks also had four RBI, and both Griffin Hugus and Carson Marsh provided multiple strong innings out of the bullpen.
