CINCINNATI – The Cincinnati lacrosse team welcomes the Ohio State Buckeyes to Nippert Stadium for a Friday noon face-off.

The Bearcats improved to 9-4 and 2-1 after defeating East Carolina on Saturday. Cincinnati sits fourth in the American Athletic Conference, looking for a spot in the conference tournament come May.
 
Sophomore Camryn Callaghan became the first Bearcat to surpass 100 career goals in under two years in the program. She ranks fourth in the nation for goals (49) alongside senior Lauren Ottensmeyer, who is tied for fifth with 48.
 
Before Saturday's game, Callaghan needed one goal to reach 100. She hit the milestone within the first minute of play. Ottensmeyer leads the AAC in shots per game (8.69) and is seventh in the country.

Graduate goalie Victoria Macres remains eighth in the country for save percentage (51.9) and second in the AAC.
 
Cincinnati is 5-1 on the road and 3-3 at Nippert Stadium with losses to ranked opponents No. 2 Michigan and No. 18 James Madison.
 
Freshman Ava LaRuffa is a newer addition to the starting lineup, showing her strength on the defensive side of the ball.
 
// SERIES HISTORY
The Bearcats and Buckeyes will meet for the 12th time with the first meeting dating back to Cincinnati lacrosse's debut season.
 
OSU leads the overall series 10-1.
 
The last meeting saw Ohio State defeat Cincinnati in an overtime thriller, 13-12, in Columbus on Feb. 28, 2023. Ashley Lapp saved a free position shot with 23 seconds left, and Grace Hirschmann caused a turnover and picked up the ground ball in the waning seconds to preserve regulation.

Cincinnati Head Coach Gina Thomas (Oliver) was a standout midfielder at Ohio State from 2002-05. Oliver was a four-year letter winner for the Buckeyes and earned All-America honors three times. She was the American Lacrosse Conference Player of the Year in 2003 as Ohio State won the American Lacrosse Conference Championship and the league's Rookie of the Year in 2002. Oliver was also a four-time, First-Team All-ALC selection.

The Buckeyes return four of its top seven scorers from 2023 including attacker Jamie Lasda who has 31 goals, 54 shots and 28 draw controls this season.
 
Ohio State under the helm of first head coach Amanda Moore, who previously spent seven seasons at East Carolina.
 
Goalie Regan Alexander enters her third year as the starter in goal, registering 101 saves this season. She led the Buckeyes with 46 ground balls last year.
