Lacrosse Stars Earn AAC Postseason All-Conference Team Honors

CINCINNATI – Cincinnati women's lacrosse standouts Camryn Callaghan, Lauren Ottensmeyer, Alexis Rich and Hailey Joy Simpson received AAC Postseason All-Conference Team Honors, the league announced Wednesday.

CINCINNATI – Cincinnati women's lacrosse standouts Camryn Callaghan, Lauren Ottensmeyer, Alexis Rich and Hailey Joy Simpson have received All-AAC Honors, as announced by the league Wednesday.

Callaghan was named to the First Team after finishing her sophomore season with 56 goals, tying her freshman year mark. She registered 11 hat tricks this season alongside a .853 shot on goal percentage. The Ohio native started in every game this season for the Bearcats and notched four game-winning goals.

Ottensmeyer, Rich and Simpson were all named to the Second Team.

Ottensmeyer led the Bearcats with 57 goals and 67 points in her senior season. She sits second in the conference in goals per game (3.35 avg/g). She recorded a goal in every game this season with 13 of those being hat tricks. The Missouri native notched a career-high six goals twice, against Louisville and Ohio State. Ottensmeyer received AAC Weekly Honor Roll four times this season.

Simpson made quite the impact as a freshman finishing with 20 goals, placing her as the fourth leading scorer for Cincinnati this season. She received AAC Freshman of the Week honors four times throughout the season. Against Xavier, Simpson recorded a career-high four goals and three groundballs. She appeared in every game, earning a spot in the starting lineup early in the season. 

Rich, a three-year starter, was a strong defensive leader for the Bearcats, finishing her junior season with 29 ground balls, 18 caused turnovers and five draw controls. Against Louisville, she scored the first goal of her career. Rich earned AAC Defender of the Week after recording a career-high six ground balls and five caused turnovers against Butler.
