CINCINNATI – Cincinnati lacrosse sophomore attacker Camryn Callaghan and senior attacker Lauren Ottensmeyer became the program's first national award recipients with their appointment to USA Lacrosse's Honorable Mention All-America team.
The honorees were chosen by USA Lacrosse Magazine staff with input from coaches and conferences across the country.
Callaghan, an Upper Arlington native, matched her 2023 AAC Freshman of the Year total with 56 goals, which included becoming the fastest in program history to reach 100 goals. She registered 11 hat tricks this season alongside a .853 shot on goal percentage. The 56 goals are tied for fourth in single-season program history.
Callaghan also earned a spot on Team USA's U20 training team last summer. It included a camp in August and fall classic in October, with the final roster to be determined this summer for the U20 World Championship in Hong Kong.
Ottensmeyer led the Bearcats with 57 goals (third at the school) and 67 points in her senior season. She sits second in the conference in goals per game (3.35 avg/g). She recorded a goal in every game, with 13 of those being hat tricks. The Missouri native notched a career-high six goals twice, against Louisville and Ohio State.
