Cincinnati Women’s Tennis Places Three on Academic All-District Team

CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team placed three student-athletes on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team on Tuesday.

CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team placed three student-athletes on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team on Tuesday.
 
Graduate student Victoire de Samucewicz, junior Callie Flanagan and sophomore Rozalia Gruszczynska secured All-District honors.
 
The 2024 Academic All-District Women's tennis teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
 
To be eligible, student-athletes need a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher, must be academically at the sophomore level and have participated in at least 90 percent of the team's competitions.
 
De Samucewicz graduated with a digital marketing grad certificate this April showcasing a 3.86 GPA. The Paris native appeared in 21 matches out of the No. 1 and No. 2 positions, totaling four singles wins. De Samucewicz totaled four doubles wins, three with Flanagan and one with freshman Sakurako Watanabe at the No. 2 spot.
 
Flanagan presents a 3.8 GPA and is majoring in nutrition and dietetics. She accumulated seven singles wins out of the No. 4 and No. 5 positions. In doubles Flanagan was slotted in the No. 2 spot with De Samucewicz and the No. 3 position with sophomore Isabel Pacheco. Flanagan secured five doubles wins.

Gruszczynska, a finance major boasted a 3.5 GPA. The Poland native led the Bearcats in singles wins with 10. She saw action in all 23 matches, racking up eight singles wins at the No. 1 spot. Gruszczynska teamed up with freshman Gabrielle Guenther to total a team-high 10 doubles victories as a pair, all of which came at the No. 1 position.
