Due to rainy weather expected this weekend in the Cincinnati area, the Bearcats (30-21, 16-11 Big 12) and Big 12 Regular Season Champion Sooners (32-17, 21-6 Big 12) will begin their series with a doubleheader on Thursday beginning at 2:30 PM. Game three is still set for Friday at 5 PM, but fans should keep an eye on GoBearcats.com and the Cincinnati Baseball social media feeds for any further weather updates.
The Bearcats are coming off a series sweep of BYU and reached a couple large milestones in the process. Friday's 4-2 win in Provo officially punched Cincinnati's ticket to the Big 12 Tournament in Arlington, Texas, and Saturday's 12-5 victory was its 30th win of the season. This is the first 30-win season for the program since 2019.
This weekend's series will mark the first-ever meetings between Cincinnati and Oklahoma on the diamond.
Next up for the Bearcats is the 2024 Big 12 Tournament, which will be held May 21-25 in Arlington, Texas. UC enters this weekend in fifth place in the Big 12 standings, but just 1.5 games behind Oklahoma State (17-9) and one game behind West Virginia (17-10) and Texas (17-10) in the conference standings.

Cincinnati officially clinched its Big 12 Tournament berth thanks to a 4-2 win last Friday at BYU. The tournament will be held May 21-25 at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, home of the Texas Rangers.
The Big 12 Tournament features an increase to 10 teams this year in a modified double-elimination format. This will be the third consecutive season Globe Life Field has served as the backdrop to the event and the fifth time (2002, 2004) Arlington has served as host. The Big 12 is the only Conference to host its baseball championship at the permanent home of a Major League Baseball team, the Texas Rangers, and the only one to crown a champion in a climate-controlled facility.

Prior to the start of the season, Cincinnati was picked to finish last in the Big 12's preseason coaches poll. The Bearcats received 21 points in the poll, tied with BYU for the last spot.
