CINCINNATI – Two University of Cincinnati athletics department members have been selected to appear in NCAA-sponsored women's professional development events.

Cincinnati assistant track and field/cross country coach Sarah Anderson will take part in the NCAA Women's Coaching Academy, and athletics learning specialist/academic coaching coordinator Kelley Reis will serve at the Women's Leadership Symposium through Women Leaders in Sports.

The WCA is designed for women coaches who are ready to elevate their holistic coaching effectiveness by learning advanced leadership skills and strategies that directly affect their personal and team success. Participants focus on non-sport specific concepts in an environment that fosters inclusion across the sports community. This year's NCAA Women Coaches Academy will take place June 17-19 in Denver.

The Women Leaders in Sports Women's Leadership Symposium (WLS) runs May 22-23 and is for early-career women beginning or aspiring to a career in intercollegiate athletics or the sports industry. This program aims to enrich participants' skills, expand their professional network and promote the recruitment and retention of women working sports. The NCAA is also a presenting sponsor.

Incentives for approved applicants include connecting with other women in the industry and expand professional networks, improve soft skills (resume, interviewing, personal branding) and get a better understanding of how the sports industry works.

Anderson is finishing her second year at Cincinnati. She was a four-time MAC champion at Western Michigan and also earned Second-Team All-America honors at Michigan State.

Reis swam two years for the Bearcats, graduating in 2020 and earning her master's degree in 2022.
