CINCINNATI – Ten Cincinnati athletics teams achieved perfect Academic Progress Rate scores in the latest NCAA report.
It marks six-straight years of double-digit UC programs surpassing that mark. Five other teams accomplished the feat on the multi-year metric, and in that same multi-year category, Cincinnati led all Big 12 teams with seven teams leading in their respective sports (Texas second with five).
In addition to those aforementioned teams, football (994) and women's basketball (996) led all Big 12 schools on a multi-year basis, while men's basketball (995), men's swimming and diving (989) and men's track and field (987) were second.
The APR provides a real-time measurement of a team's academic success by tracking eligibility and progress toward graduation of each student-athlete on scholarship.
The current data contains multi-year marks from the 2019-20 academic year through the 2022-23 academic year. The NCAA Division I Board of Directors states that teams must maintain a 930 four-year APR score to compete in 2024-25 postseason action and not face possible sanctions. This is the 20th year of the APR report, including the second-consecutive year after foregoing one report due to installment due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
