CINCINNATI — University of Cincinnati women's soccer head coach Erica Demers unveiled the team's 2024 non-conference schedule on Monday.
"We are very excited for our non-conference schedule, Demers said. "The competition will challenge our players and help prepare us for year two in the Big 12. We are very excited to get back to work with our team after a much needed summer break."
Cincinnati's non-conference schedule includes seven matches, four of which will be played inside Gettler Stadium. The Bearcats have 18 matches scheduled for the entire 2024 campaign.
After two exhibition matches against NKU (Aug. 7) at home and at Morehead State (Aug. 10), Cincinnati will kick off the regular season by hosting Murray State on Aug. 15. This will be the Bearcats' first time since 2018 that the team will play its first match of the season at home.
The Bearcats will then hit the road for two straight matches against Toledo on Aug.18 and then against Central Michigan on Aug. 25.
Cincinnati last faced Toledo on the road in 2021, when UC drew the Rockets 1-1 in double overtime. The Bearcats also drew CMU 1-1 at home last year.
Following the road trip, Cincinnati will return home for a three-game homestand versus Louisville (Aug. 29), Eastern Michigan (Sept. 1) and Butler (Sept. 5).
The match against Louisville will be the first since 2013, when both schools were members of the American Athletic Conference, while UC will face EMU for the first time in school history.
The Bearcats will close out non-conference play by taking on a familiar foe in Xavier on Sept. 8 in Norwood. Cincinnati has historically dominated the series, holding a 25-7-2 record over the Musketeers, including a record of 12-4-1 on the road. It will be the first time the schools have played each other since 2021.
Cincinnati will begin its Big 12 slate the following week with the first of a three-match homestand, starting with welcoming West Virginia to Gettler Stadium on Sept. 12.
