CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati baseball team received the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award on Wednesday.
 
The ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award honors high school and college programs coached by ABCA members that post a cumulative Grade Point Average over 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
 
Cincinnati has received the ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award every year since 2016. The program posted a cumulative GPA of 3.387 during the 2023-24 academic year and had 15 student-athletes earn Academic All-Big 12 distinctions. Tommy Boba, Kerrington Cross, Carter Earls, Cole Harting, Josh Hegemann, Chase Horst, Griffin Hugus, Tommy O'Connor, Max Palmieri, Alex Shea, and Sean Springer were all first-team selections, while Max Bergmann, Lauden Brooks, Alec Jones, and Kory Klingenbeck were named to the second team.
