CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati athletics director John Cunningham has announced that four members of the athletics department have earned staff promotions.
Dr. Lenecia Nickell is now the Associate Athletics Director for Sport Psychology. She joined the Cincinnati athletics department in its first-such mental health role in January 2022, bringing more than 16 years of experience at the time. Since then, she has added two additional full-time mental health clinicians to best serve all student-athletes.
Stuart Scovanner has been elevated to Assistant Athletics Director of Facilities. The 2015 Cincinnati grad has worked his way up from facilities and operations intern to coordinator and director before his new role. He is the primary contact for men's basketball games among other roles, particularly in Fifth Third Arena.
Eddie Taylor is now the Director of NIL Innovation. The former compliance graduate assistant stepped into the department's new NIL department last summer as an assistant director, specializing in student-athlete brand building, and UC earned the top institutional program honor at the NIL Summit this summer.
Jeff Vedder has been named the Associate Athletics Director of Business Affairs. He first came to Cincinnati in 2014 in the UCATS office before later overseeing the daily operations of the ticket office from 2019-21. Vedder manages budgets for men's basketball, tennis and other departments in addition to supporting NCAA audits, financial reporting and more.
