CINCINNATI – Sophomore sprinter Davenae Fagan has been selected to represent Team USA in the 4x100 relay at the World Athletics Under 20 Championships, taking place August 27-31 in Lima, Peru.
Fagan will also be an alternate in the 200m. The 200m race is set to start August 29-30 and the 4x100m relay begins August 30-31.
"I'm super excited for Davenae as she truly worked hard her first year as a Bearcat," associate head coach Nadine Faustin-Parker said. "She ran lifetime best marks, scored for the Bearcats at the Big 12 Championships, and now she's made her first international team."
The Stone Mountain, Georgia native already ranks in the top five for multiple indoor and outdoor events in UC program history. She is fifth in the indoor 300m (38.78), fifth in the indoor 400m (54.32), fifth in the outdoor 200m (23.43) and third in the outdoor 400m (52.73).
In addition, Fagan had five first-place finishes and 18 top-five finishes during her freshman campaign.
