CINCINNATI -- Cincinnati women's golfer and graduate student Ruby Chou is in California this weekend to take part in the LPGA's Qualifying Series.
Competition runs Thursday-Sunday over three courses: Mission Hills' Dinah Shore and Arnold Palmer circuits in Rancho Mirage, as well as Indian Wells Country Club in Indian Wells.
Chou, of Taipei, Taiwan, was a January enrollee and did not see action in the spring semester, but she is coming off a highly successful career at Iowa State. Her 2022-23 season saw her notch the seventh-lowest stroke average with a 75.03 career mark, helped by a 74.22 that year.
She also won the 2022 Iowa Women's Amateur title and qualified for the 2022 NCAA National Championship after posting the best individual mark at the Stanford Regional.
Cincinnati begins play, as well as its second season under head coach Aimee Ponte, Sept. 9-10 at Kansas State's Powercat Invitational.
